Do you believe?

Do you believe in Science?

I mean, I do believe in some science, but I don’t really “believe in science.”
I don’t think it has all the answers.
I think it is profoundly limited.
This science crap only finds answers to the questions we ask, y’know?
That’s kinda how testing and experimentation works, after all.
Well, what if we are asking some of the wrong questions?
I think that we are.
I don’t think that science has all the answers or even most of them.
Science is bunk, man… it’s like the older brother that you looked up to for all this time, but then you find out that he’s soooo limited in so many areas… even though he does know what he’s talking about in a number of things.
Like, I believe that humans have more than five senses for sure
I have even “empirically tested” this.
People can totally tell when they are being looked at.
When you are in traffic… look at someone.
They will turn and look at you well over 75% of the time.
Even if you are using rearview mirrors and other crap… they’ll turn and stare right back at you through one or even two mirrors.
WHERE is THAT in our science books Big Brother!?!
t’s not even there.
I bet these scientists might even know about it, but if they can’t explain it they don’t print it.
There is all that arrogant older brother ego to protect.
It’s a sham!

  1. Why this post all of a sudden? I somewhat agree with your ideas, but I’m interested to hear what has brought about these thoughts - you almost sound angry at science, why?

  2. I’m not angry at science, but perhaps I do have some bitterness against people who feel that it holds all the keys to knowledge.

This is something of a joke too. I was IMing you about it as you may recall, and I wanted to save it really quickly, so I just put it in here.

  3. I do recall and I agree, I don’t think science has all the answers - I don’t think everything that’s true can be scientifically proven.

  4. Here is what I love about science (being a prospective scientist myself :-) :
It’s one of the greatest outlets we have to display our constant desire to know more. It defines things and explains things to the limit we are capable of (and obviously there is a limit). I love just sitting in a class, hearing about all the latest discoveries and theories, and yet realizing no ultimate explanation can ever be given….it’s all just description of what we can see, or just a best guess at a describing what we can’t see.

I pretty much second everything you say in the above blog. But that still doesn’t mean science is pointless…no more pointless than almost any other earthly endeavor we take on. And not all “scientists” are narrow minded, thank you very much:-)

Love you lots…and thanks for providing an outlet to have some good discourse on an interesting topic. Peace married man.

  5. Older brothers are limited!!! *stares in shock*

so….not a big fan of science?

I don’t pay much attention to it mostly because I don’t understand it and I don’t care to take the time to. But I’d imagine that science has contributed greatly to our current knowledge. What about vaccines and other medicines.

So though I don’t tend to believe a lot of what they say, there is a reason they are there, and they do good things sometimes.
